My first life was as a lawyer. I created and built a dynamic, specialized boutique law firm in the Washington, DC area, that really capitalized on my entrepreneurial skills and allowed me to serve as its principal visionary for a dozen years and still retire in my mid-thirties. I was a regular author and seminar presenter in the local community and nationally on topics related to management and leadership. The transition to Pinnacle Group came after several years off (in a motorhome – ask me to tell you the stories!) Pinnacle Group was a natural fit for this stage of my life because of my ability to visualize the growth and objectives of our clients and really get my hands around the unique facets of each of our clients in building their teams to realize their vision.
I am a relationship person. I know that fit is critical to the success of any team, and having grown a unique, dynamic professional services organization myself, I can really take measure of a person's character and ferret out what makes people click. My background as an entrepreneur enables me to visualize and react to the specialized needs of our clients' emerging growth and restructuring. I am an engaging and lively part of any team, and I know that what we do makes a real difference in the lives of the people we work with and the success of their businesses, and it's a great feeling. As the Director of Client Relations, I am able to use my energetic personality to provide an added level of service that sets us apart from other recruiting firms by helping our clients focus on their own growth potential and really hone in on great people who can do great things in the right environments.
I was born in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, grew up in a Detroit suburb and became migratory afterward, finishing college in Texas, law school in California and spending most of my professional career in Washington, DC. Since giving up the motorhome, I split my time between Manhattan and Scottsdale and wherever there's a team I can help build.
My free time is spent in creative projects to preserve the environment, promote social justice and build bridges of peace.
