I was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived most of my childhood rural Iroquois, South Dakota. A couple years after graduating high school, I married my
husband (Michael) in August 2004. We then lived in Georgia for a short time while Mike was
in the army. While in Georgia, we acquired a cat and named her Lucy. One year later,
our son Tobias (Toby) was born July 7, 2005 and we were back in South Dakota. After moving
around for a while, we settled down (at least for now) in Huron, South Dakota and are currently awaiting
the arrival of our next child in September.
Spending time with family. We love to camp in the summer. It is our tradition to spend our 4th of July and at least a few other weekends in the summer out at Grandpa Jerry's Cabin in the Black Hills. I love to play volleyball and enjoy studying the history surrounding WWII and the Holocaust.
I enjoy parenting books and true life stories. Right now I am reading A
Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah. It is his true life story about being a boy soldier in Sierra Leone, Africa.
American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs, History Channel, home makeover shows on HGTV (I love watching these with my husband).
The Notebook and It’s
a Wonderful Life.
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller
